Hello there! I'm on a bike...

I was going through my old computer checking out some old pictures seeing how much I have changed... Ever since I got my iphone or any picture phone we have pretty much kept a log of what we do everyday. I go back two years and this is what it was about.  THAT GUY WAS HAPPY! Look at him! That Double Double from In N Out

Pour on the cheeeeese, Double the meat!  Make it three of them!!!! lol

One for later on that night! Ehhh why not on the way to the hotel...

I was in the car audio business and we would go on trips to different expos where they would exibit the latest and greatest in our industry. I would love these vacations, we would get out of the valley and check out awesome cars, go to Vegas, meet celebrities, eat, gamble, and eat some more! Fun times.
We would spend a couple of days out there "studying" the different techniques on how to install things.

After all that we would come back to reality and work hard at the shop.  Every day.

Looking back, that was my life. Day in and day out it was about my business. We worked hard every single day.  For 8 years I had my store, it brought many great times, and some scary but all in all it was a good part of my life. It was never about me. It was all about getting things done and pleasing the customers.

Right now I'm on a bike.  Even though it is a huge difference from then and now, I am happy where I am at.  That was a great part of my life, but it only gets better.

Pedal to Padre 2011...

Pedal to Padre is an annual bike tour that goes from Brownsville to South Padre Island.  This event is fun because around 900 riders attend it.  It's awesome to see so many cyclist on the road.  I like to start in the back of the group and maneuver through the hundreds of rider like a car racing game.  I went with Adrian, Arlene and Cindy.  I pushed them to stay on my wheel and set a fast pace. They are definitely getting a lot faster being able to stay up with the group.  We made it to the beach in 1 hr 15 minutes. Then we had to wait about 2 hrs for all the riders to come in so we could cross the Queen Isabella Causeway.  They have to shut down the whole road in order for the thousand bikers to pass.  Billy and I gunned it... We were the first two cyclist to get to the island conquering that bridge!

Me pushing Cindy to keep going.
The Queen Isabella Causeway.  Some people have to walk it up!
Billy and I were the first ones across! Photo ops! lol

Another win for the big guy...

First place is an awesome feeling, especially when you have the leverage to get there because you have some awesome friends and teammates that will let you get there.  We had an awesome race and pretty much dominated the field.  We were just so much stronger than the other guys it's funny...  We felt good and planned out our race and did great.  Season has been pretty awesome so far, getting wins in the weekends and staying in shape during the week.  Still a lot of races coming up and the training continues... good times!

Sunday Criterium Race...

Did a criterium on Sunday and it was the first time I have ever won any money at an event! I came in second behind my buddy Billy and raked in $300 cash combined!  It was a good race, and we planned it out perfectly.  Before the race we did a rundown on what we were going to do.... I told Billy that right off the bat we sprint to the front to get position and dictate the pace, CHECK!  Then our plan was to try and drop as many people as we could then level out the pace so it can be safer... After 3 laps it was just me, Billy and one strong kid left.  We worked together and eventually lapped everyone more than twice!  We felt strong. 40 minutes later of pulling and rotating, Billy took the sprint as I secured Second place trying to block out the kid.  Great race!

I even won a helmet on a prime lap!

Had a great weekend of racing...

Sorry it has been a while since I blogged, I have been busy working and just haven't had the time to sit down an write something.  This weekend I did two races, a duathlon and a criterium in which I had a podium finish on both!  On Saturday I did a relay duathlon, I did the bike portion.  It was basically a 11 mile time trial. I hit it hard the whole way and averaged 24.2 mph!!! That's the fastest I have ever done on this long of a TT.  My runner and I got 1st Place in our division and 1st Place with fastest overall time!!!
